About

 Hello, Bula Vinaka!

I'm a Fijian made, Melbourne raised, tea drinking, island girl at heart. I'm inspired by my Melanesian culture and the uniqueness of it.

I created prints that evoked my memories of a very special bond that Fijians have with each other, whether through your friends, paternal or maternal side of your family.

As Indigenous Fijians where ever we go, either going to just a gathering or just meeting on a street, we will always acknowledge each other with "Naita", "Kaivata", "Ga Vata", "Tovata", "Tauvu" or "Bula".

We Fijians will always represent ourselves through our "Dua Vata", "Vakarokoroko", "Veilomani", "Vuvale" and "Vanua".

I thought we can still represent our culture and ourselves through our unique attire, when we go to our own get togethers in our little corners of the world.

Every Indigenous Fijian belongs to one of the three large confederacies, in Fijian called Matanitu. Which are Kabuna

(Tailevu, Naitasiri, Lomaiviti, parts of Ba, Ra), Burebasaga (Rewa, Nadroga, Serua, Kadavu, parts of Ba, Namosi) and Tovata.

(Bua, Macuata, Cakaudrove, Lau)
